Dear Jacinda Ardern,

I'm writing to you about the awesome Garden to Table program here at Owairaka District School in Mount Albert.

Last Term we got to take risks and try new types of food. I liked all the food even the spinach and feijoa drink that most of the class said was gross and that someone puked into it.

At Garden to Table there 2 groups. The kitchen and garden groups. First, I going talk about the kitchen. In Kitchen you make the food by reading the recipe carefully and you have to put the right amount of stuffed in, so this helps you with our maths and reading. You don't put the wrong thing in as it will taste horrible. It happened twice last term, once with salt added instead of sugar to the muffins and once when baking power was forgotten and the muffins were very flat.

Now i'm going going talk about working in the garden. In the garden you harvest fruit and vegetable and you give them to the kitchen. We have learnt to harvest the fruit and vegetables the right way! We also learn about how to look after our worm farm and compost bins.

I think that Garden to Table is awesome because you get to try new   types of food and I wish every school in New Zealand could do this. I would like to invite you came to our school to for a Garden to Table session and try it out for yourself. I know you will love it.

You sincerely,

Jonty
