Journey to Jo'burg

This term we were reading a novel called Journey to Jo'burg. It is a story about when black people have less freedom then white people. Black people have to carry a pass  and white people don't need to carry a pass. Why is the book title call Journey to Jo'burg because Naledi and Tiro need to get to their mum. She lives 300 km away. The need to walk to help their little sister Dineo so she doesn't die because she has a fever.

We are learning to create a pick a path story. The skills I learned were that you can link slides in your presentation by creating a button.

I really liked this task because it was really challenging. It was also fun sending people back to the beginning again to complete the pick a path one more time.

Interland

Today Mrs Mills showed us this new site called Interland. 

It showed us how to be safe online. I was playing Reality River. It taught me about what you do if you do something wrong or if you come across any scams. You need to make sure you delete anything that doesn't look right.

A close encounter

Today Mrs Johns show us her chickens 

Their was an adoptive mother that was a Silkie hen and the chick was a Australorp and Mrs John group was learning about chickens and the life cycle.

It takes the chick 21 days to hatch. They need 38 degrees to hatch and every few hours you need to flip them. They also need shallow water so the shell doesn't dry out. 

Telescopic Text

This term Room 22 have been learning to add details to our writing by stretching a sentence. We can do this by adding adjectives, verbs, adverbs, smiles and metaphors. We discovered this new website call Telescopic Text.
